What you’ll achieve:
As a member of the order-to-cash team, the billing specialist will be primarily responsible for facilitating the receipt of accurate, timely invoices for our customers. This will include upstream activities from invoicing (deal review and sales order creation) and downstream activities (A/R monitoring, usage analysis, reporting package). International candidates will be required to work in US hours.
Essential Duties
- Proactively onboard customers to ensure that we have all required information to bill our customers accurately including, but not limited to addresses, tax information, term, receipt preferences, PO’s etc.
- Review new deals for completeness and required documentation daily.
- Prepare invoices for our customers monthly, ensure bills are sent to customers in a timely manner.
- Prepare sales orders for approved new deals daily to be invoiced per contract terms.
- Prepare usage bills for our customers monthly. Perform analytical procedures and work with others in the business to ensure the quantities billed are correct.
- Work with the accounting team to ensure that our contracts are set up appropriately for revenue recognition and reporting.
- Monitor customer usage on prepaid accounts and maintain usage records for reporting to sales and account managers.
- Have a strong understanding of controls and maintain appropriate documentation associated with the execution of controls.
- Work with internal/external auditors and provide them with support as needed.
- Work with customers to resolve any billing related issues that may arise.
- Assist in special projects related to the OTC process.
- Assist in collections efforts with customers.
Desired Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred, although not required.
- 1-2+ years of overall experience in billing and/or quote to cash processes and/or equivalent role.
- Experience with NetSuite (and Suite Billing) is preferred.
