As a Software Product Owner, you will be responsible for defining and prioritising the features and functionality of the Outseer solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders, including business owners, users, and the development team, to gather requirements, manage the product backlog, and ensure the successful delivery of high-quality value-adding software solutions. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Agile & SAFe principles, strong communication and leadership skills, a good knowledge of the fraud and payments domain and a passion for creating exceptional software products.
Essential Duties
- Define and communicate the product vision, goals, and objectives to the development team and stakeholders.
- Ensure that wider stakeholder groups are informed of solution changes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Prioritize and maintain the product backlog, ensuring that it is properly groomed, refined, and ready for development.
- Break down complex features and projects into actionable tasks for the development team.
- Provide the development team with clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring a shared understanding of the desired outcomes.
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure that features are implemented according to requirements and delivered on time.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive, user-friendly software interfaces.
- Conduct user acceptance testing and continuously gather feedback to improve the software product.
- Monitor market trends and competitor products to identify enhancements and innovation opportunities.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the product’s progress, highlighting any risks, issues, or dependencies.
- Act as a liaison between the development team and stakeholders, facilitating communication and managing expectations.
- Actively seek and incorporate stakeholder feedback to improve the product and address concerns. Serve as a subject matter expert on the software product and guide stakeholders on its functionality and capabilities.
- Stay current with industry best practices, trends, and emerging technologies related to software product management.
- Define key product metrics and monitor performance against goals to identify areas for optimisation and improvement.
Desired Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience – Software / Banking).
- Extensive experience as a product owner (or relatable areas like CS) 7+ yrs within Banking, financial, consulting or software industries.
- Strong record in delivering complex software products through agile delivery.
- Proven experience as a software product owner or in a similar product management role.
- In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications and vice versa.
- Familiarity with software development processes and technologies.
- Experience working with Agile project management tools like Jira or Trello.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude, passionate about delivering high-quality software products.
